About Us

Aberystwyth Dog Rescue is an independant animal shelter for stray or abandoned dogs that caters for Aberystwyth and its surrounding areas. We are the only animal shelter that serves Aberystwyth and therefore play an important role in the local area. All of our staff have NVQs in Animal Care and several have BSc degrees in Animal Science.

 Our Mission

   We aim to:

  • Help any dogs who are stray, have been abandoned or who have been treated cruelly
  • Provide homeless dogs with shelter and care
  • Find our dogs loving and safe new homes
  • Promote responsible dog ownership
  • Encourage compassion for all animals, as well as dogs

Listen to our podcast, which interviews our founder to find out a bit about our history and what we do. (A link to listen to such a podcast would be embedded within the text)

Our History

We began as a very small operation which began looking after stray dogs. More dogs were being brought in, which meant building more kennels. Aberystwyth Dog Rescue became an official charity in 2009.
